Cannot get into game at all.

Hi guys. It'll be really good to see you guys in game. I can't get in at the moment. Keep having "an application failed to start because d3dx9.dll was not found"

Have tried many times by reinstalling both mod and mod manager and game. but no joy..

Seems like you are using Win7. Had the same problem on my laptop. You have to put that dll into c:\winfows\system32 folder. Here is the dll you need, just extract it into that folder. d3dx9_26

Ohh noes, I think thats gonna happen to me when I install FL into my laptop. Had that issue once for Black and White II, solved the issue by doing the what Misha/Croix suggested above and put it into my game folder or somewhere. Let us know if it solves the issue.

No I'm using XP Pro SP3. Apparently it's an error with DirectX 8 or 9 I have to delete some files from FL.EXE directory.


There is a DirectX 8 to 9 "converter" addon included with the mod. Freelancer was originally written to use DirectX 8 and the addon gives the mod advanced graphics features, but there is no part of the addon that automatically switches between 8 and 9 so if your card isn't compatible, you have to remove the affected files.
Try removing these files from the Freelancer EXE folder.

enbconvertor.ini
enbseries.ini
Keep them in a separate folder and try the mod.

IF you get the saem problem do what the above says. I haven't tried it yet but will asap
